I have ability to follow the leadings of the Spirit, especially in terms of who and how to reach
The Spirit of God is an Advocate/Comforter in our lives and a guide in ministry and in truth (John 14:26, 16:13). The Spirit also proves the world to be wrong about sin and righteous, thus contributing to repentance (John 16:7-11). It is important for cross-cultural workers to walk closely with the Spirit and follow his leading. Paul the Apostle was led in unexpected ways by God. During his second missionary journey, he received a vision of a man from Macedonia. He interpreted this as a call by God to preach the gospel to that area (Acts 16:9-10). He immediately followed this leading to serve in an unexpected area. Cross-cultural workers need to be open to and willing to follow the leading of the Spirit.
Those serving in Muslim contexts benefit greatly if they can listen to and follow the leading of the Spirit. God may guide them in unexpected ways, including who they interact with (both individuals and groups), locations where they serve, and how to practically reach others. They should recognize that God may provide dreams or visions to those who know little about him. This may be an opportunity for the Christian worker to share more deeply about God and his message. Workers in Muslim contexts should daily look to the Holy Spirit for guidance, even as they fulfill their normal duties.
